Built for medical practices
Most missed call text back tools text people because nobody picked up. Lydoh answers every call to your practice, 24/7, then texts only the patients who hung up anyway, so they know the front desk will call them back.
Flat $199/mo · text back is included, off until you turn it on
Hi, this is Riverside Family Medicine. We got your call, and our front desk will call you back shortly. Reply STOP to opt out.
The problem
A patient who hangs up has not stopped needing care. They are about to call somewhere else. Industry call-handling research compiled by Aira reports that 85% of callers whose calls go unanswered do not call back, 62% contact a competitor, and about 80% of callers who reach voicemail hang up without leaving a message (Aira).
The phone they hung up on is almost always a mobile, so a text reaches them where they are. Pew Research Center found that 98% of U.S. adults own a cellphone (Pew, 2025), and the CDC estimates 80.0% of adults lived in wireless-only households in the second half of 2025 (CDC/NCHS).

Why answer first
A text is a second-best outcome. The patient who reaches someone on the first call books, asks their question, or gets put through. Lydoh answers every call, including after hours, so the usual missed call is rare. What is left is the caller who hangs up before saying anything useful. That is who the text back is for.
How Lydoh's text back works
In settings it is called Text back callers who hang up. It is off until the practice turns it on.
The exact message
Sent from your practice number, with your practice name. After hours it says when you reopen, and medical and med spa practices add a 911 line, because a hung-up call at night can be a worried one.
Hi, this is Riverside Family Medicine. We got your call, and our front desk will call you back shortly. Reply STOP to opt out.
Hi, this is Riverside Family Medicine. We got your call. We're closed right now, and our front desk will call you back when we open Monday at 8 AM. If this is an emergency, call 911. Reply STOP to opt out.
The text never says why they called. No reason, no service, nothing that could be health information on a lock screen. The reopening time comes from the office hours you set in Lydoh.
Who never gets a text
Lydoh labels every caller after the call. The text back goes to patients and to callers who said too little to tell. Everyone else is skipped.
When they reply
Patients often answer the text: "can I come in Thursday?" That reply becomes a request in your Requests inbox, or is added to the open one for that number, and your office is alerted. Nothing sits unread on a practice number nobody checks.

FAQ
Missed call text back sends an automatic text to someone who called your practice and did not get through, so they know you saw the call and will call them back. Most tools text everyone nobody answered. Lydoh answers every call first, around the clock, and texts only the callers who hung up before leaving anything.
It is worth it when callers who don't get through would otherwise be lost. Industry call-handling research compiled by Aira reports that 85% of callers whose calls go unanswered do not call back, and 62% contact a competitor. A short text that says the front desk will call back gives the practice a second chance with those patients. It is not a substitute for answering, which is why Lydoh answers first.
Keep it short: the practice name, that you got the call, when someone will call back, and how to opt out. Leave out anything about why the person called or what their visit is for, because the text can appear on a lock screen. Lydoh sends: "Hi, this is {Practice}. We got your call, and our front desk will call you back shortly. Reply STOP to opt out."
No. Before sending, Lydoh looks up the caller's line type with the carrier and texts mobile numbers only. Landlines and VoIP lines are not texted. Most adults can be reached on a mobile: the CDC estimates 80.0% of U.S. adults lived in wireless-only households in the second half of 2025, though the share is lower for adults 65 and over.
No. Lydoh labels every caller after the call, and it never texts pharmacies, drug reps, cold sales calls, robocalls or other businesses. It also never texts withheld numbers, numbers you have blocked, your practice's own numbers, or anyone who replied STOP.
The reply becomes a request in your Requests inbox, or is added to the open one for that number, and your office is alerted. A patient who writes back "can I come in Thursday?" is waiting in the inbox with the number to call.
Missed call text back software usually texts people because nobody picked up. Lydoh answers every call, 24/7, so most callers are helped on the call itself. The text back is for the smaller group who hang up anyway, and each one also lands as a "Call back: hung up" request so the promise in the text is kept.
Yes. The Lydoh missed call calculator lets you enter your own call volume, the share of calls you miss, and what a new patient is worth, and shows what unanswered calls may be costing you. The figures it uses are sourced on the missed-call revenue loss report.
